At the NYC iSchool, we use technology for most of our classes. We have online classes that students take to work at their own pace. We have the commons where students can relax and talk to their peers and teachers. We have office hours where students can meet with their teachers for make-up work or if they do not understand something. We also have module where all grades are mixed into one class and it is a class based on real life problems.
The teachers at the iSchool try their best to help out their students as much as they can. After school, we have what is called, office hours, where students can go to their teachers and ask for help or to make-up work. Here at the iSchool, teachers focus on helping students pass their classes. teachers want to give students a chance to make-up their work.
Daniela, a freshman at the NYC iSchool stated, “Our school isn’t like any other schools because we have module, different electives, and we can make-up our work at office hours.”
The NYC iSchool started four years ago, so many things have changed.
This year will be the first time that the iSchool will have a graduating class.
There were so many different impressions that students at the NYC iSchool had when they first came to the school.
Alexis, a freshman at the NYC iSchool stated, “My impression was that I thought everything had to do with technology, but not every class uses technology.”
Students at the NYC iSchool had many different opinions about the school. Most of the students said that the iSchool was a great school.
Madeline, a freshman at the NYC iSchool stated, “My opinion about the iSchool was that it was a good school and it wasn’t that strict.”
Rumer, a freshman at the NYC iSchool also stated, “It’s good and we use technology to do different things.”
The classes that we have at the iSchool are different than the other high schools in New York City. We have classes called module, which students in different grades are allowed to take. Modules are classes where students experience real life problems. Other high schools, only allow students that are in the same grade take their classes together.
Angelica, a freshman at the NYC iSchool stated, “The classes are very diverse from other schools.”
The iSchool is very unique in many different ways. It is a school where teachers and students can connect with each other by using D2L and their iSchool email.
Rumer, a freshman at the NYC iSchool stated, “No other school has it like we use D2L and out iSchool email for teachers and students to come together.”
The iSchool is the new start to our future and this is the next step to making more 21st century school.
